Plot Summary of the book Rule Of Four
The story is set in Princeton campus during the Easter of 1999. The plot revolves around two seniors, Tom Sullivan and Paul Harris, who are working on their thesis for graduation. And their thesis is about unraveling the mysteries of an ancient book, Hypnerotomachia Poliphili, which was published in 1499 in Italy.
Since it was written in different languages and embraced complex allegory, scholars have failed to decipher it for hundreds of years. When Tom and Paul get stuck in their research, they find a long-lost diary that appears to be the key to decode Hypnerotomachia Poliphili. But a longtime researcher is murdered just a few hours later.
It’s also the time they recognize that their lives are in danger because someone was killed for knowing the old book too much, and Tom and Paul just know even more.
Top reviews from readers after read The Rule Of Four
Tom Brown: “The Rule of four is a fairly well-written and well popular studied book, so in my view, it is worth 4-star. But after hundreds of pages, this reader’s interest began to diminish, and I began to hope for a global conspiracy, or more action, or a hidden identity. But, you know—, it was not what I expected.”
Beorn S. Hall: “A wonderful story that has been well studied and fascinated from the first page to the last page. This book is far superior to other books in this genre. Lost manuscripts, plots, adventures are all interesting. Indeed, the work was very well organized, with clever plots, and overall a very good reading. I strongly recommend it.”
Howard: “The protagonist’s point of view is adoptable, and his perceptions are by turns wise, humourous, sad and depressing. Perfect for college graduates. The story was a bit predictable and not entirely new, but it was solid, well-spoken, and simple. I’m sure you like it.”
